Pioneer Days

Fiesta Days Carnival in Spanish Fork.
The Wendlands timed it just right from their looooong drive
from Yellowstone to hit up the carnival with us.
They were thrilled to get out of the car after a long ride and stand in long
lines.  Carnie rats for life! lol
But the kids loved every second of it.
 Donna sportin her darker locks.
We made an appt with Treece for early Wed morning before boating.
It's fun to have a girlie day at the salon.
Donna and I on the tube.
We laughed and screamed so hard.
I think the boys took it easy on us, they were on the boat with all the kids
and pictured life taking care of them without us :)
So they were only partially mean whipping us around.
 Eme, thrilled as always.
She naps on the boat a lot, must be relaxing.
Snippets of our day on the boat.
We were really trying to sell them on Utah.
All sorts of shenanigans going on in the boat.
We literally unloaded the boat, changed, packed the cooler
and headed up the canyon to meet our friends camping up Diamond Fork.
The creek running right by their camp site.
The kids had fun stacking, and stacking, and stacking
wood blocks.
I missed the pics of the "mud" the kids were making.
It was hilarious.  All the boys, and Addy were great mud
makers, my girls supervised.  Ellie said it was "gross", lol, my girl!
Addy literally said "whoever wants to take our picture, feel free"
I never miss an opportunity to capture cute kiddos.
 We spent the actual 24th {Pioneer Day}
hiking up Payson Canyon to the grotto.
Hiking, splashing in water and a fun picnic.
The perfect day.
A big thumbs up for Mapleton's fireworks show!
We grabbed pizzas and snacks and went to Mapleton's firework show.
They really do it up right.  Band before, small town-feel, and the best
fireworks hands down every single year.
 The girls.
Candice, Katelyn, Donna and I.
Happy July 24th from the Bogards!

This was the last night the Wendlands were here.
We had a BBQ and an intense game of badminton!
Yay baby!
It's our new family sport, so much fun, and hilarious too.
I think we sat out by the firepit every single night,
sat under the stars, sometimes with kids running around, and others
with the peace and quiet of them asleep.
The perfect Summer nights every night.

The Wendlands were just here for about 5 days.
They hit up Yellowstone first then spent all week with us.
I think we ran around non-stop.
When Friday finally came around we did breakfast at Joe's Cafe,
got stuff for dinner and then relaxed.  I think we were all exhausted
from all week.  Wish they didn't have to go!
The kids are going through major "the boys" withdraw.

Happy Birthday America- Our 4th of July

Red. White. and Blue all day long
 My little firecrackers!
 America the beautiful!
We started our day with Patriotic Pancakes
and Patriotic music playing.
We spent the day in Scofield with Katelyn and her in-laws.
We didn't have any plans, thought about going to a movie but
really nothing out and we were not BBQing until 8pm,
so drove up Spanish Fork Canyon.  Scofield res is so pretty to see.
 Our 4th of July BBQ.
Lazy Susan with lots of fruit.
Nick and Noni waiting to get their grub on.
Getting ready to eat and watch fireworks.

Food then fireworks.
Who is excited for the show???
While eating the fireworks in our neighborhood started,
and I mean really started.  This was just over our shoulders, but
we could hear and see them everywhere.
We walked out front and they had started up there too.
Red, white and blue glow necklaces.
Eme loved them at first, but when inside after a bit.
Too many loud noises for her.
 Fireworks sidelines.
 Party people.
Our neighbors in this direction over our house
must have spent thousands of fireworks.
They were incredible!
We had lots of fountains and aerials to launch too.
 Ellie loved all the action.
 Firework masters.
Seriously these aerials were non-stop.
We could not look fast enough in every direction to
catch them all.
Our neighborhood was a glow.
One of the best shows I've seen that is not professional.
Rootbeer floats by the fire pit
with S'mores.
The perfect end to the night as fireworks
went on well into the night.
 Happy Birthday America!
Land that I love.
The girls, Jeremy and I camped out in the backyard
in our tent.  An awesome way to spend the 4th.
Sparks were flyin!

Our 4th was filled with all things patriotic.
I love this day so much!
I think it may be my 2nd favorite holiday, next to Halloween.
It's been super hot, like really hot the last little bit,
so it was nice to escape up the canyon where it was a bit cooler.
Then we spent the night with family, yummy food and
incredible fireworks.
We followed it with another great display on the 5th too.
I am not sure where people were getting so many
fireworks, but we sure were enjoying them.
Happy 4th of July!

Glamping Party {Ellie 6, Emery 4}

I think I have a picture every year of the girls in the kitchen
with their birthday balloons.
Invite to the girls' combined glamping
themed birthday party.
 Camp Bogard
 Party entrance
Party scene.
This was what greeted our guests,
a build your own trail mix station.
 A glamping we will go.
 Party favors.
 Now take a hike!
{we love our campers}
Make your own trail mix station.
 Go nuts!
I think everyone liked making a little snack.
Campers are always happy when you feed them
from the get go.
Pretzel nuggets, raisins, peanuts, M&M's, mini-marshmallows.
The girls waited all day to make one.
Grandma Linda and Kat making some trail mix.
 Now for the food.
Camp fire hotdogs, baked beans and chips.
I love that camping food is so easy.
 The tablescape.
  Camping + Glamour = GLAMPING
You can't go glamping and not have a chandelier.
 Camp fire baked beans
{Grandma Linda's special recipe.
She flew 2500 miles to make them}
 Camp Bogard
 Happy Campers!
The Florences arriving to the party.
 Kat, Jeremy and Vicki
 More happy campers.
 Drink station.
Kids project,
beading leather necklaces.
I'm not great at the kid activities, but this kept
them entertained for a few minutes.
 Charms for the necklaces.
 Present time.
Ready to rip into those presents they have waited
so patiently to open.
One year old already and so mobile.
The girls got spoiled by everyone who came.
 Tree stump cake.
 Camp Bogard cake.
 We sang twice,
once for each girl.
{combined parties are the best, one cake, one party
and one night, the best!}
Hope they both made big wishes.
 Oh yes we did!
"Back that thing up"
After party relaxing by the fire pit.
 My favorite part,
our new lights that Jeremy strung in the yard.
S'mores station
{although we were all too full}
We are saving them for the 4th of July.

It's funny how the girls keep having birthday parties,
although they are not allowed to get older!
I can't believe they are 6 & 4.
I love when we combine the parties, being only one month apart
it's just so easy, and being so young still they don't care.
Grandma Linda flew in from Florida to be here and it's nice
she can be at both their parties all in one.
The girls waited ALL day long for their party,
it's hard to be patient on your party day.
I think we had lots of "happy campers",
the party was a great success and turned out really cute.
Thanks to all who helped us celebrate!
